What’s Our Hero Doing?

Hans suddenly awakens inside Vantablack Ring, a game he has completed countless times. Instead of becoming the protagonist, however, he finds himself in the role of an insignificant background character with no importance to the original story.

Knowing that a devastating monster attack is about to occur, Hans decides the safest option is to stay close to the game’s hero, Kadith. To his horror, Kadith is killed almost immediately, shattering everything Hans thought he knew about the story.

Determined to prevent disaster, Hans searches for the remaining heroes, only to discover that each of them is doomed to meet the same fate. Even more strangely, every time a hero dies, Hans begins inheriting their unique abilities.

With the original storyline falling apart and his hopes of living quietly disappearing, Hans must decide whether to continue running from destiny or embrace the powers he has gained and become the hero this broken world desperately needs.
